boy rainbow shorties

14 03 2008

These are coming out soo wonderful. I almost can not put them down.  Markie told me they look like a rainbow in the sky. This yarn is lovely to work with. Knits up really fast and is soft on the fingers.

The waistband is meant to be a fold over. It also will keep a little babies tummy’s covered and can be grown into as the child gets older.  one thing about infants and woolies is the no onesies!! So Im thinking that this is a great alternative to the belly showing with normal T’s!

Here is the  yarn that was picked for the NB shorties. I think this solid green will be great on the trims. Its gonna really make the colors come out. These are going to be made with a longer fold down waistband so babe can grow into them. I will be casting on tonight!! sleep kids sleep! ahhhaaa

ribbed soaker with Celtic embellishment

11 03 2008

I started this soaker a few weeks back and found it in one of my many Chico bags.  I had one cuff that needed to be done. I worked the cuff up fast. After having such wondrful fun times  on the just blooming shorties I wanted to do more embellishing. So I started this Celtic embellishment. I think its turning out really well. I have just a bit more to do and its done. I think its kind of like a Celtic recycle sign!! LOL

Sorry about the blurry photo. Little baby was coming after the camera at the same time so it was a fast snap shot.

Just blooming shorties

7 03 2008

The earth colors I have been in love with lately where my inspiration for these sweet NB shorties. The colors where crying out for a tree. I hand embellished them with with a tree that is just blooming on each leg!   I love spring. I love it when the first leaves start to bloom. I figured what was more perfect then a Newborn to have these trees. the start of New life! I even did the trims in seed stitch just because you know seeds and something blooming go together right?

Here is how they looked in progess:
